I Just Have To Let It Go...

Today marks what would have been the 67th birthday of John Lennon.

I wonder what John would have created had he not been taken from us - musically and artistically.

I wonder how he would involve himself in the current political climate.

I wonder how he would have reacted to the events of September 11th, 2001 in his beloved New York.

I mourn the loss of a man I never met but somehow still feel like I know.

I think about his family and how they mourn the loss of a husband and father, and I wish them well.

I know that is how you feel, but reading your heartfelt words brought me to tears.

I wonder the same things...

It seems people who do make a positive difference to us and to the world are so often lost too early. It doesn't seem fair that we have missed out these 27 years on the influence of such a caring, loving, visionary man.

We mourn the loss of good in the world. We mourn what would have, what could have been. We mourn the loss of John.

Difficult as it is not to think about the void that is left without him, let's try to use his birthday to celebrate him and all the good he left behind. Let's try to dwell on how lucky we were to have him at all.

Sweetie, don't "let it go..." John should be missed.

Scott, You've captured my sentiments well. What an amazing ability he had to draw-out thoughts and wonderings that so many identify with themselves. Truly amazing how relevant much of what he wrote is today.
