Tomorrow begins National Blog Posting Month - a month in which bloggers commit to posting at least one blog entry each day for the month of November.

I've already thrown my hat into the ring and announced my intentions to accomplish this, and Gina and I decided to share a common theme of writing about things we are thankful for. We've both been hard at work compiling our lists which we shared with each other just this morning. I think you'll really enjoy reading both of our blogs during this time, but especially hers.
Writing daily blog posts has been a goal of mine for a long time, and one I haven't done a good job of keeping up with. Both of my readers deserve current content. Alas, life and work distract.
But involving myself with Na-Blah-Blah-Blah (for the life of me I can never remember the acronym NaBloPoMo, and it is actually a bit too reminiscent of Nambla for my liking) is hopefully a move in the right direction.
I've declared it publicly which is a good step. Following through on things I have promised is a big motivator for me. I have also set up a goal chain in my favorite to-do list manager. A goal chain is a visual reminder of how long I have kept up with a scheduled task - in this case a daily blog post. The chain gets longer each day, and if I miss a day I break the chain. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld apparently uses this technique to write jokes each day.
This isn't a commitment I am taking lightly. My hope is that once I am in the habit of doing this daily, it will become second nature and my day just won't feel complete without the click on the publish button.
So join me on this journey and read along as I discuss 30 things I am thankful for. Join in on the fun in the comments - nothing motivates a blogger like insightful comments, or at the very least knowing there is an audience out there.

I'm sure you have more than 2 readers. I'm one, and that's half of that number.

October was a real off month for me, and I was really happy that I didn't lose all of my readers.
