or whoops - I guess there are only 30 days in November...
As we move in to the second half of NaBloPoMo I thought it would be a good time to do a quick debrief on phase one.
As you know I am writing daily on things for which I am thankful. When I signed on to do this I created a page in my trusty backpack and started a list. Some things were easy, others required a bit more thought, but ultimately I ended up with 30.
But the list has been a bit more fluid than I thought it would be. Over the course of the month I have changed the order of the topics entirely and have added a bunch more stuff to the list, leaving me with a lot more than 30 topics.
So in an effort to get things back on track, I'm going to pick out some of the items that I might not otherwise get to and talk about them briefly here. This serves a couple of purposes really - it gets me back to a schedule and it lets me finish this post, which I am just now starting at 10:30pm, before midnight.
So here are quick thoughts about some other things for which I am thankful
Marx Brothers Movies: The quick wit, the puns, the sight gags, Harpo's horn, Chico's piano solos, Groucho's cigars and Zeppo's.. um - yeah even Zeppo.
Classic TV: OK, not the best description but I mean shows that make me laugh uncontrollably like The Dick Van Dyke Show and Bob Newhart.
Aquarium Fish - Not the cheap ones but not saltwater. I had African Cichlids in college thanks to my uncle who was a fish distributor and I loved an active well stocked tank. Turn off all the room lights, put on some good music and just watch them. I hate the upkeep and maintenance so I don't have one now, but someday I hope to again.
Pixar Movies - All of them, every single one. They make me happy.
Stephen King Books - OK, admittedly I haven't read the last couple but that is because I just don't read as much as I used to. I read The Stand as a freshman in High School and it started a wonderful journey of reading.
I am really enjoying this exercise and experience. I am a bit tired of typing NaBloPoMo but this has been a lot of fun. It is a challenge to post every day, especially on a day like today but I really want to see this through.
Cheers also to my fellow NaBloPoMo'ers Gina and Kelly who are still on track as well - be sure to visit and support them in this pursuit by reading and commenting on their sites.
