Apparently there was some sort of sporting event yesterday... and apparently the favorite team didn't win. Perhaps it is karma rearing her head and making it known that cheating isn't rewarded...
at least one can hope.

Go karma!
ANd who made them the favorites? The freaking hype-machine sports journalists. Did you hear The Pats themselves come out and say, "Hey, we're the favorites, so just go back home, Giants?" NO, you did not. Did you hear the typical loudmouthed fans saying such things? YES, but there are loudmouthed fans on both sides, and even an idiot on the Giants who couldhave had to eat crow on his win guarantee, if but for a field goal.
Pats fans were dazed by the cheating "scandal," but we got over it when we figured that they're just the ones who got caught. I'm sure other teams have their own ways to bend the rules, too. It doesn't excuse what was done, but it seems less aggregious when you realize that other teams may just use different ways of cheating.
As for sports teaching sportsmanship, that's all fine and dandy when you're dealing with kids on the field, but, somehow, when $$ and contracts and the promise of fame are on the line, many of the pros take shortcuts. It's not right, to be sure, but it's done, otherwise we would not have had the whole steroid brouhaha lately.
I'm a Pats fan and I feel just as good about them as they did before the game yesterday. We had our thrills and glory all season, and the Giants got some at the Super Bowl. Records are still on the books for the Pats glorious season, so that's fine by me. (and we still have the Sox victories, and the Celtics are better than they have been in YEARS!) It's still a good day to be a New England fan!
/rant over! lol
I won a hefty amount too this year from this game.
