I've initiated a number of "features" here over the last year including the I Recommend (where I post an album I like), and my VOTD series (where I choose a cool youtube video), neither of which lasted all that long.
This here Build Your Own Best Of series is on it's third week though and shows no sign of stopping. I think this might be a record for me.
So once again inspired by Nat at Mini-Obs, the idea is the same as always:
Pick one of your favorite bands / artists and list 10-15 songs by that band / artist to compile your own best of compilation.
So here goes - The Best of Rush as compiled by me:

I love every single one of your picks.
Finally saw the band a few years ago, when Neil returned after losing
his wife and child and it was worth the wait.
We took our Rush-loving teen son, and he was having a blast until
security took his disposable camera that he sneaked in. He was
SO MAD, because he was taking pics of us at the show, and not of
the band. He took pics of the stage and stuff before the band
took the stage, but security cared not. Didn't spoil the show, though,
and we will always remember how great it was to hear "Tom Sawyer,"
"Red Barchetta," and "Freewill" live and in person. They even
played "Roll The Bones," which was my son's favorite album
when he was a little kid. He was in heaven.
Great pics for your best of!
I'd have to have "Limelight" and "2112 Overture," in my list, too.
We saw them a couple years back - a huge sacrifice by my wonderful wife to come along as she so isn't a fan .
In any case, the performance was good but the sound was just horrendous. It was one of those outdoor lawn type places and it was probably mostly because of our seats (last row in the pavilion) but it was just terribly muddy. Alex is one of my favorite guitar players and his solos were just a wall of incomprehensible noise - I was very disappointed. We are so spoiled by the good sounding club and theater shows I guess.
Great that your son is carrying on the good musical tastes - that is so very cool. My nephew is just starting to show some interest in music which is excellent.
I thought about including 2112 but it seemed odd to break it up. It was the first Rush song I ever heard though - I still have the album I stole from my older brother.
