Those Were The Days

Rollerkaty from The RollerBlog is having a groovy super 70's photo contest and I finally got around to digging up my entry.

That’s me on the right and my neighbor and best friend Craig on the left. Notice the wallpapered door (as if you could miss it) and the Sears Toughskins. I don’t have an exact date but I’m guessing it was about ‘77 or ‘78 as I appear to be about 10.

She has extended the deadline to midnight Pacific Standard Time (PST) Saturday March 1, 2008 so head over and submit yours. The first batch of entries are in - and hilarious.

Be prepared to spend some time there browsing through the archives. If you were around for the 70s or not, you'll find plenty of vintage stuff at The RollerBlog - truly a fantastic and fun read.

Love that wallpaper! And I have to love that long, twisted phone cord. We had a couple of phones that mom was always trying to keep straight. I used to talk to my friends and stretch the cord WAAAAAY up our hall steps so I could have the most privacy possible in a house with 7 other people!

I posted a bunch of photos I'm considering for the contest. Go have a laugh. I think my jeans beat your Toughskins, though. tee hee.

Yeah - that wallpaper is just amazing isn't it. Oddly enough, the decorator who picked it out is a really close friend of the family and recently helped pick out our new kitchen colors.

Her taste is much better now it seems.
