Too much happening this past week. Here is a quick rundown of what has kept me busy.
Work, Work, Work
Getting close to launch on a couple of client projects and had 2 new laptops to set up for other clients. We usually schedule things out differently but sometimes external circumstances force changes. I'm glad I have the flexibility to respond accordingly when this happens but unfortunately personal blogging gets moved lower on the priority list. I promise to get better though.
I moved my office.
A nice space with windows opened up across the hall from where I was. My old office was an interior spot so it was much like a cave. While I enjoyed the solitude at times, the lack of sunlight and exposure to the outside was getting tiresome. This is much better.
Of course I've accumulated quite a bit of stuff since I moved in and getting it all moved and organized was quite a chore. I'm almost done though. I think I hurt my back and my knee moving things around yesterday though, am struggling to get around today.
My nephew got a guitar
Actually, it was a gift from his grandfather (my father) but I went with to help pick it out. He is a beginner and didn't really know what he was looking for so we just sat and had him play one of everything until he found something he was comfortable with. He wasn't drawn to anything in particular so it was quite an adventure.
It was great fun to watch him though and when we finally found a good guitar amp combo and he got "the grin" on his face, we knew we had found the right one. I showed him some chords and how to play Smoke On The Water so he is happy.
Yet Another Writing Gig
I've been added to the contributing team for
Web Worker Daily to do product reviews and articles on using The Web to work efficiently. I'm psyched about it and will be submitting my first article later today. Watch for the official announcement.
I recently posted a nice
write-up of the Serendipity Blog / CMS on the official Entrecard blog as well.
Today is a bright and sunny day, I have the windows open in my office and am enjoying a cool breeze coming through. Hopefully the dreary winter is over and we are moving into a new season - one of growth and prosperity for everyone. Have a great day!
Cheers!

As far as guitars go, I was in paying my bill for the RTR's lessons today and scanning all the amazing used guitars for sale in the place where he takes lessons. They have guitars from the '60's for sale. Pricey!
But, looking forward to the next post!
I picked up a Hoboken label Guild F-30, for a song, on Friday. The guitar gods smiled on me at a local pawn shop.
Max just started guitar lessons in January, and he has a student-sized electric with the cutest little amp. He loves it. Smoke on the Water was a first tune for him as well! Along with Slow Ride and Rock You Like a Hurricane.
I love the light that comes through - I could do without the noise.
@Nat - great perspective - shouldn't feel guilty at all. Latest post is about fantasy baseball which isn't even really all that interesting to me. Have another BYOBO for tomorrow though.
@Clark - Fantastic. I check our local shop a couple of times a year but have never been that lucky.
@Narissa - I lived without the window for a year and could have managed without it - but now that I am settled I really can't imagine doing it again.
@Elle - We'll have to get to Slow Ride soon as he knows it from Guitar Hero. I think that has really been a motivator for him to be interested in music and playing guitar. Good luck to Max with his lessons.

I actually have a issue with mixing incandescent and fluorescent lighting, and it give me ocular migraines. I don't have any windows in my office, and I like it that way. But if windows is what you like, then I'm glad you have them!
I usually don't even bother with the fluorescents most times. The natural light is more than enough to work with most days.
Of course, the "lovely" Chicago spring weather we are having here this week isn't really what I had in mind - I'm not sure I could handle it if it was any more rainy or dreary.
