Today's Mission: Top 5 Songs That Come To Mind When You See The Word "Dreamy"
So there are a couple of different ways to approach this. Obviously we could run with songs with Dream in the title, but I also think of teen idols and teenage girls talking about the latest "Dreamy" phenom. Dude. Where's your EC Widget? I'd have been dropping on you daily if you had one.
I dropped my EC widget a few months back. The toolbar killed any sort of significant dropping not based on reciprocation and I got tired of dropping cards. Plus, I got tired of the condescending tone they had to anyone not using WordPress.

Winter Wine - Caravan.
One of those songs I never tire of listening to, and never want to end.
"...remember it pays to pay the sandman well.
Make no fuss, for you must - in stardust, he
puts all the colours in your dreams"
Sandman - Emmy Lou Harris.
Lovely melody, great guitar part. I think Les Paul may have played on an early recording of the song, but can't remember the singer.
Lady Rachel - Kevin Ayers
I have three or four versions of this song, some released from live sessions at the BBC. One of the creepiest songs I've ever heard, but certainly dreamy.
Reality Dream - Riverside
Actually part of a trilogy of albums from Polish prog rockers who really have succesfully revived the concept album. Dark and brooding yes, but fabulous construction and real virtuosity across the board.
Third World Man - Steely Dan
I don't pretend to understand the lyrics, and not really a dream theme, but there is a certain ethereal quality about the guitar part that calms and soothes. I like to fall asleep with this song.
I'll have to see / test what is permitted with adding links to comments. I disallow the editor to keep spam down but I'll see what I can find out for you.

I don't purposely go for obscurity, In fact I find your little challenges quite difficult. I'd love to be more spontaneous in my selections. Instead I have to really rack my brains to rattle these things out of the dusty old tin that is my memory. Riverside was quite easy as they are a fairly recent discovery of mine as well.
PS. Mary Ford sang Sandman with Les Paul. (See I can get there in the end)
It's even more cool that you don't purposely go for obscure - that just shows how diverse your references are.
I admittedly put a bit more thought into these than I should. Actually, it's just enough to get past the initial obvious response but not enough so that it's actually like work...
Really enjoyed the Riverside, I have them on the list for further listening / research.
