I am a big fan of live music. I love going to concerts and really enjoy listening to the spontaneous creation of art. I try to support artists that allow the taping and trading of their concerts and really believe that the community that builds around this exchange just strengthens and enhances the fan base - at least that has been my experience.
Back in the old days - I used to frequent some record stores that sold bootlegs. Usually low quality crap taped with handheld recorders from under a coat - true stealth recordings. Sound was muddy but it was a chance to hear vintage recordings.
Nowadays, taper friendly bands allow folks to bring in recording gear and capture high quality copies of their concerts. Rather than the old stealth recordings, these are often great quality and really capture the concert in all of its glory.
