Birthday Wishes To Another Guy You've Never Heard Of

as Don Wilson celebrates #62 today.

While I imagine most aren't familiar with Don's name (admittedly, I wasn't), you are most certainly familiar with his band The Ventures and the signature guitar sound that drives songs like "Walk Don't Run", "Hawaii Five-O" and countless others.

I knew of The Ventures, and my dad had some of their records. He'd play "Play Guitar With The Ventures," as if it were a regular album. We didn't even HAVE A GUITAR in our house! I think "Walk DOn't Run" might have been on that record, though, which is probably why dad went nuts playing it!

Just a great band really - I had the youtube playlist in the background for a good part of yesterday and was enjoying it quite a bit.

Oddly, I've never learned a Ventures song - will have to remedy that.
