Since then they have put out a stellar sophomore release Book of Lies. I've had the chance in the past to listen on my defunct Yahoo Music subscription but hadn't yet picked up a copy of my very own (perhaps holding on to the fact that Chris was going to send me one...)

Yesterday though I got an email from the band announcing the opportunity to buy the album in MP3 format for only a buck. That's an offer I couldn't pass up so, despite some initial troubles with paypal, I am now the proud owner of this fine album.
This is sort of a big deal for me as I've never actually purchased an MP3 before. I'm still a big fan of the CD and if I like something enough to buy it, I always jump to the full physical CD release. The only music I've ever purchased online via download is the .flac version of the Gov't Mule shows via Mule Tracks. Those are high quality and there is no physical counterpart.
These mp3 tracks are DRM free though, and encoded at 320 k/bits so it's not too terrible. The plain vanilla looking copy I burned right away will look out of place on the CD shelf but it will get put up in the collection anyway. I don't think buying digital is a trend I'm likely to continue, but if a bargain like this comes along again who knows.
Go Buy It.
It's a buck.
And the deal ends Sept 30th so go do it now before you forget.
Enjoy,
SB
