I'm really fond of the Clicky Web Analytics Product (this is a referral link) - it gives me a real time view of all of the visitors to my sites and provides a great deal of information about what people are viewing and what people are searching for that brings them around.
It also tracks all sorts of details about each visitor which for some reason I find tremendously interesting. Here are some of the more interesting tidbits from over the last year.
Browsers:
IE is still king around here representing the majority of visits. For a general blog I think this is still natural. A tech heavy blog would likely see a much higher % of alternative browsers represented.
Internet Explorer 56.2%
Firefox 31%
Safari 7.8%
Chrome 2.5%
Opera .8%
Mobile .8%
Mozilla .6%
Konqueror .1%
Consoles .1%
Operating Systems:
Not a surprise here either. I do wonder how this site appears on the console though. Interesting to see if this number rises in the future.
Windows 85.6%
Mac 12.1%
Linux 1.5%
Mobile .7%
Consoles .1%
Traffic Sources:
The bulk of my traffic still continues to come from searches. This site carries a Google Rank of 5 and is well indexed. Unfortunately a large % of that % are looking for Thermos information, something I've discussed in the past. I also get a good number of searches from people looking for images - using good alternative text and tagging helps with that.
Search 76.8%
Links 13.3%
Direct / Bookmark 7.7%
Social Media 1.3%
RSS .8%
email .1%
